Fr. James Stephen Behrens, OCSO, a monk at Holy Spirit Monastery, was laid to rest in the cemetary for our Community members on August 21. 

Fr. James left his mark on many.  The Funeral Mass was attended by over 400 people.   Dom Augustine delivered the eulogy at the Funeral Mass.

Fr. James was the author of several books and a columnist for a local newspaper.  He often was a retreat director at the Monastery Retreat House.  Fr. James was an avid photographer and his work appears in several publication.

We at the Monastery celebrate his life and look forward in faith and hope to being fully reunited with him in God’s Kingdom.  We shall always admire and honor him.
