On the evening of May 6, 2011, the monastery celebrated the opening of the Monastic Heritage Center. The Center is the fruition of a 5-year long effort of a Season of Renewal. Thanksgiving and Celebration was overarching theme for the evening -- thanksgiving for the success of the project and for the generosity of the friends and corporate good neighbors who have supported its creation.

The evening began at 6:00 p.m. with a wine reception and tours of the new facility. This was followed by a ceremonial blessing of the buildings, then a formal dinner along with an enjoyable dance presentation by the Folkloric Dance Group from the Boy & Girls Club and a musical presentation by a Choral ensemble from University of Georgia. The speakers for the evening were Vince Dooley, Auxiliary Bishop Luis Zarama from the Archdiocese of Atlanta, Michael Jansen, Javier Goizueta and our Abbot, Father Francis Michael Stiteler. Russ Spencer (Fox News Atlanta) was the Master of Ceremonies.

Grand Open House

To show our appreciation and hospitality to our friends in the community and the public at large, we plan to have a Grand Open House. However because of the large anticipated gathering and the extreme hot temperatures this time of the year (July thru mid-September) we decided to postpone this event until the fall on October 1-3. Make plans to attend with your family. We are sure you will enjoy the exhibits and our beautiful monastery grounds. Monks and volunteers will be on hand to offer you a warm welcome. Meanwhile the Monastic Heritage Center is open to all and we look forward to welcoming you and your family.

Schedule -The Heritage Center is open Monday - Saturday 10:00AM to 5:00PM and on Sundays 12:00PM to 4:30PM
